On Tuesday May 6th, eight Kids and Youth Faith Formation leaders from across the state came together in Grand Rapids for a much-needed day of connection, inspiration, and fun. It was such a gift to step away from our day-to-day ministry work and spend time building community with others who share a passion for walking with young people in faith.
We kicked off the day by getting to know one another through games and conversation, then moved into deeper discussions around some of the big questions we’re all facing:
- How do we recruit and support amazing volunteers?
- How can we encourage more parent involvement?
- What creative ideas and events are working well in our churches?
A huge thank you goes to Laura Johns for graciously hosting us and providing a delicious lunch that kept the conversations flowing. We also had the chance to tour Trinity United Methodist Church and see their beautiful ministry spaces—a highlight of the day!
There’s something powerful about gathering in person. Whether we’re sharing ideas, wrestling with challenges, or simply laughing over a shared meal, these connections remind us that we’re not doing this work alone.
Want in on the fun?
We’re already looking forward to our next gathering on Tuesday, July 15 at the Wesley Foundation in Mt. Pleasant, MI. If you’re a Kids or Youth Ministry leader in Michigan, we hope you’ll join us. Let’s keep building this community together!
